"I know that Indy is quite different from F1," said Sato, 33, on Thursday in Tokyo, where he was held announcing the hiring of the pilot. "I'll try to learn every race so you can have the best performance," reinforced. Sato played seven championships in Formula 1 and is outside the main category of motor racing world since mid-2008, because of the ex-Aguri Suzuki of the competition. The pilot tried to stay in F-1 to test for Toro Rosso, but as no door is opened in any team, he decided then to Indy. The best season Sato in Formula 1 came in 2004 when he finished the World Championship in eighth spot with 34 points, and reached the podium with a third place in the U.S. Grand Prix when the team ran BAR. The Indy Racing League season will begin on the 14th March in Sao Paulo, which will be held the Brazilian stage of the category in 2010. |
