The Venezuelan authorities broke up a gang called "Los Invisibles", composed of
five individuals, including a Luso-descendant who specializes in financial
analysis of Portuguese sequestrates.
The gang is accused of in the last two years have performed at least 45
murders and is implicated in robberies, drug trafficking and several cases of
kidnappings, including that of a Luso-descendant and three other youths in the
town of Santa Rosa de Charallave (40 km south of Caracas). "I hope that these
dangerous offenders are sent to a maximum security jail, sentenced Tros Wilmer
Flores, director of the Body of Scientific Research, Penal and Criminal (CICPC),
to confirm the dislocation of the bunch.
Under that charge the dislocation was possible following a police operation at the national level, undertaken by the group self-directed work, with units of electronic screening, which allowed recapture a group member, Freiber Velasco Vargas (23 years, after being held for a weeks and disappeared within hours). The arrest of the "czar of the kidnapping" took place during a raid in San Diego Hotel Valencia (200 miles west of Caracas), where they still held the group's ringleader, Francisco Javier Velasco Vargas (26) and Frank Perdomo Alberto Pineda ( 19). Simultaneously, the policy held in the Caracas metropolitan area, two other members of "Los Invisibles" Rujano Juan Manuel Aguilar (26) and Figueroa Emanuel Ferreira, known as "El Portuguese" and "expert in analyzing the financial status of Portuguese citizens before being kidnapped.
