{mosimage}A stye (stye) is a small boil in the glands in the roots of the eyelashes. This is a common infection, uncomfortable and unsightly, but it is often possible to treat without medical assistance. 
The symptoms are pain and swelling of the eyelid, a later stage, the swelling creates head and drains. 


It is usually resolve spontaneously, festering in a few days and is benign. In the case of evolving to become chronic without signs of inflammation can leave a painless lump in the eyelid called chalazion. 

Causes of Styes 

A sty is caused by microbes and in most cases, bacteria. 

Treatment of Styes 

In most cases, the sty drought alone between three and five days, but in severe or recurrent need accompanying ophthalmologist. Treatment may include local heat compresses, ointments based on antibiotics and steroids and everything should be given due medical attention.
