New super shopping centre planned for Portimão |

Construction of a new mega commercial centre in Portimão has recently been approved by the Council. With 140 shops and a Jumbo hypermarket, Aqua Portimão will provide the city with its own Algarve Shopping-sized shopping centre.
Planned to open in 2011, Aqua Portimão is going to be located at the main entrance of the city, replacing an old canning factory, in front of a retail park which is currently under construction. The three storey mega commercial centre will have a 32,000 square-metre area, plus the hypermarket’s 8,000 sq metres, and will represent a €100 million investment.Another commercial centre is also planned for Portimão, to be included in the new Municipal Sport Complex.
